Eva-Marie Becker
In the cracks of chaos, connection grows. In vulnerability, we find strength.really hit the audience hard. She was focused, attentive, collaborative and good
spirited. She is exactly the sort of performer you want to work with, direct and cast.
– Chris Cottam, Director, “A Christmas No. 1”
About Me
The body, reclaimed.
Although I trained in dance for twenty years, it didn’t come naturally to live in my body. I’ve always led with thought — observing, analysing, understanding — long before I felt. Learning to move from impulse rather than intellect has taken time, and the work continues.
Now, stage combat, martial arts, and psychophysical approaches like Demidov and Source Tuning are part of how I stay connected — not just to characters, but to myself. I hold a brown belt in San Shou Kuan and an Advanced Stage Combat certificate from the BADC, and continue throwing myself into any physical challenge.
Ongoing study and deep curiosity.
I care deeply about truth in performance — emotional, psychological, and physical — and have spent over a decade training in London, L.A., and Germany to explore how we access it. While I began with classical Stanislavski-based work, I soon found my way into Meisner, and more recently into embodied and energetic approaches such as Source Tuning, Niki Flacks, and Demidov. With a background in Psychology, I’m continually drawn to methods that feel alive, responsive, and rooted in something real.
Where voice meets the story.
Voice work found me — it’s become a natural extension of my acting practice. I’ve voiced campaigns, promos, radio drama, audiobooks, and animation in both English and German. Whether it’s anchoring a brand, guiding a listener, or slipping into a character’s rhythm, I approach voice with the same commitment to nuance and presence I bring to screen work.
Where I sit as an actor.
I’m often cast in roles with quiet emotional weight — the composed exterior holding something deeper underneath. Characters navigating change, connection, or fracture.
Whether in contemporary drama, psychological thrillers, or intimate character pieces, I’m most at home in the emotional undercurrent of a scene.
